Green The Church on Covid-19 and Black Lives Matter

The world is reeling from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the impact of a highly destabilized economy. All of this has challenged us in new and visceral ways. What is especially poignant is the reality that Black people have disproportionately experienced the distress and trauma of this disease, not to mention the economic challenges, compounded by the social injustice so dramatically and painfully exposed in recent weeks to a world-wide audience. Just as these disparities negatively impact Black lives so does environmental injustice impact the health and well-being of Blacks in this country. Black lives matter, which is why Green The Church is committed to amplifying green theology, promoting sustainable practices and building power for change. Change is on the horizon and Green The Church is at the forefront of the movement for environmental and economic resilience for Black lives.
